The HRP Hall of Fame committee is now being formed for 2010.
The committee will be formed by owners who have operated here continuously under the same stable name for at least two years. There will be no limit on the number of members receiving nominating and voting privileges, only that they actively participate in the committee activities, and fulfill the two year requirement. The total membership on the committee will eventually be agreed on by committee voting. The voting records of all committee members shall be open and available to any HRP stable at any time. New members will be accepted at they pass their two year requirement. The cut-off date for the two year requirement is now
Dec 31, 2008.
Once the committee is formed, each member will nominate to the ballot a maximum of six retired racehorses they think deserving of induction, based on racing performances of those particular horses. As by committee vote, a horse must be retired by Dec 31 the year before the vote to be eligible for nomination (
Dec 31, 2009). After the nominations are collected – a vote will be taken of all committee members, and the horses inducted – with a single year maximum of six horses, should they receive at least 80% support of committee member ballots. As of this writing, future inductees are planned to be limited to six per year, pending agreement of committee membership. Voting will take place by December 31st, and the inductees announced with the proper pomp and circumstance.
Applications are now being accepted for committee membership. The committee will initially be chaired by Madddogg Stables, with assistance from Sarah Stables, subject to annual election of the Chairman by committee membership. The SRF site newspaper will support membership activities with coverage and reporting of all committee decisions. Serving on the committee will require very little time and effort, and could be quite rewarding for owners willing to give something back to the site. It should also provide some incentive for proper coverage of the retirement of worthy HRP Champions of the past. Please contact Madddogg Stables directly, Sarah Stables directly, or SRF management if willing to serve on the HRP HOF committee.
