Maiden

Jersey Mike ~ was nosed out in his last one at Hollywood Park when stretching out for the first time. Staying on the California circuit he will try his luck here at Santa Anita against Maidens, but will shorten back up for this start. Out of the gate and sitting second, as he snatched the leader at the top of the stretch he went on from there to win by a length. Winning in a time of 1:04.87 for the 5.5 furlongs and for owner Canadian Racing.

Claiming

Winters Bone ~ makes his first start for new owner Axeman. A winner in his last start at Fair Grounds against claimers for $20.000 will stay with claimers and run for a tag of $35.000. Making his fourth start in a row on the sod was out and on the lead at the break by a half a length, as he had company alongside of him into the stretch jockey Chantal Sutherland got him to dig in and the two held them off to win by a head. Winning in a time of 1:13.15 for the 6.5 furlongs on the sod.

Starter Allowance

Jacks A Fish ~ comes in off a sixth place finish in the $75.000 Bonapaw Stakes at Fair Grounds. Now looking to bounce back from that effort owner and breeder C R Racing will run him in with Starter Allowance Company. Getting the love at the betting window was looking to go off as the favorite in this one. Out of the gate and sitting off the pace, as he weaved his way through traffic he grabbed the lead at the top of the stretch and went on to win by a quarter of a length. Winning in a time of 1:13.15 for the 6.5 furlongs on the sod.

Allowance / Claiming

Sunset Kisses ~ was a quarter lengths behind the winner in second last out at Hollywood when trying the sod for the first time against N1X. Today owner and breeder Rouge River Stables will try her against oclm for $25.000, but will move her back to the main track for this start. Out of the gate and sitting third on the rail, as she hit the top of the lane she took the lead and went on to win by a half a length. Winning in a time of 1:16.14 for the 6.5 furlongs.
