Welcome back to

Hollywood
Park. On Friday November 25, 2011 they had the ninth running of the Grade III Miesque Stakes for Two Year Old Fillies. We had a field of seven ladies go in this one and all of them were looking to add a Graded Stakes Win to their resume. Lets take a look on how this race unfolded.
This years winner of the Grade III Miesque Stakes is # 7 Tiara Thief. Coming into this one a winner of two in a row looked like she would contend on paper and she did not disappoint at all. Going off at odds of 5/1was away from post seven and put on the lead by jockey Alex Solis, as she took that half length advantage into the backstretch the others started to get closer to her. Hitting the turn and into the stretch she was only a head in front of # 5 Busted Laff. The two now hooking up for the stretch run jockey Alex Solis all over Tiara Thief and jockey Hector Berrios all over Busted Laff . In the final furlong Busted Laff tried to pull past Tiara Thief, but could not today as the filly was able to gut it out and hold off Busted Laff to win by a head. Winning in a time of 1:34.11 for the mile on the sod and for owner Dynark Stables. The owner picks up top prize of $60.000.
2nd # 5 Busted Laff ~ Came in off that run in the BC Juvenile Turf where she ran ninth. Away second at the break and just a half a length behind Tiara Thief, as it stayed that way coming into the stretch she tried with everything she had to get bye it just was not meant to be today and the filly had to settle for second in this one. For her nice run today owner and breeder Ken Allan will take home a check of $20.000 for their effort.
3rd # 6 Shimoon Kapai ~ Making her first Stakes appearance after winning three in a row ran a good one for owner and breeder Ekli Stable. Away third at the break and a half length from Tiara Thief, as she came into the stretch she chased the top two, but could not get to them today and finished third a quarter length back. She gets a check for $16.000.
4th # 3 Secretariat Sky ~ The post time favorite for this one came in a winner in two of her four starts. Getting out fifth and sitting two lengths from the lead, as she turned for home she tried making a run, but never got there and was beaten out of third by Shimoon Kapai. The filly went out for owner and breeder Riggins Racing and takes home $4.000.
5th # 2 My Voyager ~ Coming in off that Maiden victory was looking to make the step up. Getting away fourth from post two and a length from the leader, as she turned for home she took a run at the top ones, but could not catch them and finished fifth but was only beaten a length. She went out for owner and breeder The Fox.
6th # 1 Polar Lady ~ Second by a nose in the $75.000 La Senorita Stakes came in and went off as the second choice in this one. Breaking from the rail was last of seven at the sound of the bell, as she sat in the back of the pack she tried making a run at the top of the lane, but could not get the to the others and finished in a Dead Heat for sixth with Suspicious Ex.
7th # 4 Suspicious Ex ~ The longest shot on the board in this one was coming into this with only a Maiden win to her credit. Away sixth at the break, as she turned for home she gained some ground, but not enough to contend in this one and finished in a Dead Heat with Polar Lady.
Congrats to All on a Great Race!
