                                                                     Purse: $100.000

Welcome back to Inglewood California the home of Hollywood Park. On Sunday November 27, 2011 they had the ninth running of the Grade III Generous Stakes. We had a full field of twelve for this race and all looking to add a Graded Stakes victory to their resume. Lets now take a look on how this years race unfolded shall we.

The winner of the Grade III Generous Stakes is # 8 Prince Of Fools. A winner of two in a row coming into the Generous Stakes was 8/1 at post time. Getting away well from post eight, as he sat just a neck off leader # 10 Trial By Fire. Down the backside he was now a half a length behind, but well within striking range as he was buying his time. Hitting the top of the stretch he pulled up and past Trial Of Fools and now had company as # 2 Quick Blue pulled along side of him. The two noses a part in the lane, as jockey Garrett Gomes went to work on Prince Of Fools and jockey Tyler Baze working hard on Quick Blue. The two hit the line together with # 7 Grand Solar closing fast. Prince Of Fools getting a head better of Quick Blue and Grand Solar. The great race turned in a time of 1:33.37 for the mile on the sod and owner / breeder The Freakshow. The ownership adds a second Grade III win to the resume and picks up top prize of $78.000.

2nd # 2 Quick Blue ~ Came in off a win against oclm for $16.000 and was making his second start for new owner Kopites. Away third at the break and a length behind leader Trial By Fire. As he followed that way around the track until he hit the straightaway. He then hooked up with # 8 Prince Of Fools and the two put on a great stretch duel with nothing between them. In the end he came up a head short of winner Prince Of Fools and just nosed out Grand Solar for the runner up spot. A nice performance, just a little short in this one. For his effort ownership takes home a check of $26.000.

3rd # 7 Grand Solar ~ The 3/1 favorite for the Generous Stakes was looking to add a Stakes victory after just missing in the BC Juvenile Turf. Away fourth at the break and sitting a length behind the leader Trial By Fire, as he dropped back a few positions on the backside jockey Rafael Bejarano brought him back on in the stretch and just missed catching the top two in this one and settles for third. Owner Ken Allan takes home third place money of $20.000.

4th # 3 Cryptomagic ~ Was moving back to the sod on Sunday after running fifth in the Grade I Champagne. Away tenth of the twelve starters and four lengths from the front he gained a position on the backside. In to the stretch run he weaved his way through traffic and made a closing effort, but came up short finishing a half a length behind the winner Prince Of Fools. He went out for owner and breeder Riggins Racing and the owner takes home a check for $5.200

5th # 1 Dawlish Warren ~ One of two entries for owner Kopites came into this one off a Maiden victory at Santa Anita. Going off at odds of 93/1 was out in mid pack at the break sitting in seventh and a length from the front, as he turned the corner he got within a half length of the others, but was passed bye Grand Solar and Cryptomagic in the stretch. He ran a great race for ownership and shows promise.

6th # 11 Naughty By Nature ~ The winner of the $100.000 Bongard was hoping to make it two in a row. Making his first start on the lawn picked a tough spot to do it, but made it a good one. Out of the gate from post eleven and sitting sixth, as he found himself behind a wall of horses he was able to get up for sixth and a length from the winner. He went out for owner Big Jd Racing.

7th # 10 Trial By Fire ~ A winner of a N1X race in his last start came in looking to make it two straight. Out of the gate and pushed to the lead by jockey Chantal Sutherland, as she lead to the half mile pole she was over taken by Prince Of Fools and faded back, as others past him. He went on to run seventh in this one for owner Boomtown.

8th # 6 Power Bob ~ Beat State Bred Maidens in his last one and was looking to now tackle Graded Stakes runners. Away eighth at the break, as he came into the stretch he finished that way finishing eighth for owner Pumpkin Racing.

9th # 12 Twice The Gold ~ Beat N2L in his last start. Away ninth at the sound of the bell, as he gained two spots on the backside. In the stretch he fell back to ninth and finished there fro owner Paradise Stable.

10th # 9 Personalize ~ A winner of two in a row after breaking Maiden and winning at N1X was climbing the ladder to his next step against Stakes Company. Getting out fifth at the break, as he fell back to tenth he stayed there the rest of the race for owner Hunterman Stable.

11th # 5 Bossier City Slayer ~ Beating N1X in his last start over a soft turf course was trying to make it two in a row. Getting out eleven at the break, as he stayed eleventh in the stretch jockey Pedroza got him no closer in this one. He went out for owner Quintis Racing.

12th # 4 Octo Clock ~ Came in off a win against Maiden Claimers for $35.000. Making his second start of the sod was out running last of the twelve at the break, as he turned for home he was no closer and finished twelve. He went out for owner Running Farms.
