Wicked Ways Looks Wicked Tough in Showtime Deb

                      Showtime Deb Stakes

             10/22/11 Hawthorne Race Course

                       Two-Year-Old Fillies

                      Six Furlongs over Dirt

                          Purse:  $100.000

Four juvenile fillies are set to square off in the third running of

the $100.000 Showtime Deb Stakes at Hawthorne on Saturday,

run at six furlongs over the dirt.

Wicked Ways is the only stakes winner in the field, and the

daughter of Estrella Perdida, trained by Broken Spoke Stables

looks like she could be a tough filly to beat here. She has not

finished off the board in all three career starts, and is fresh off

of a win last time out at this distance in the $100.000 Darby's

Daughter TX Stallion Stakes, run at Retama Park on 9/25/11

for TX Bred two-year-old fillies.

Prior to that, Wicked Ways just missed the win to finish 2nd in

the 5 1/2F dirt $100.000 TX Stallion Stakes-Zareta, for juvenile

TX Bred fillies. In the Zareta, which was just the 2nd career start

for Wicked Ways, this talented filly earned a career high speed

figure of 94, and in her very first race, where she broke her maiden

at first asking, she posted a speed figure of 87. She looks tough

here, and is on a roll, already becoming a stakes winner in just her

3rd start.

However, Flash Me Force and High Seas Warfare, both trained by

Ekli Stable, and Flying Destiny sent out by 5 A Racing, are all three

coming into the Showtime Deb, ready to run full speed and capture

their first stakes victory. Will we see a filly leave Hawthorne as a

first time stakes winner, or will Wicked Ways, have her way and

become a two time stakes winner in just four career starts? Stay

tuned Saturday at Hawthorne for an exciting two-year-old filly race!

are out for their first stakes win.

1   Flying Destiny: Trained by 5 A Racing, this filly

by Date With Destiny will be making her very first

     stakes start here Saturday.

Coming into the race after breaking her maiden in

her last race, on 9/17/11 at FPX in a 7F dirt, $25.000

Maiden Claimer for CA State Breds. Her very first race,

was at this distance of 6F on dirt, where she finished

3rd in a $6.000 MSW at RD, on 7/17/11. High speed

figure of 84 came in her 2nd start, a 7F MSW run at

Calder, where she finished 4th over the good dirt. No

recent 6F dirt works, but Flying Destiny breezed 6F

over the turf at Calder on 9/3/11 in 1:12 and 2.

-Makes a bit of a class jump here after just breaking

her maiden against state bred company last time out.

The speed figures of her first three starts, are quite a

bit lower than the rest of the field, so this could be a

tough spot for Flying Destiny. Will need to turn in a big

     performance here on Saturday.

2   High Seas Warfare: The first of two entries for Ekli

Stable, this filly by Trench Warfare is starting in her

3rd stakes race, and looking for her first stakes win.

Last race came just 13 days ago, in the Grade III

Tempted Stakes, where High Seas Warfare was 2nd,

just missing the win by a nose in the 6F race over the

Belmont dirt on 10/9/11. Prior to that, she finished 2nd

to Wicked Ways in the $100.000 Darby's Daughter TX

Stallion Stakes at Retama for TX Bred fillies on 9/24/11.

The Darby's Daughter was also run at 6F on dirt, and

she earned a career high speed figure of 92 in that race.

-High Seas Warfare broke her maiden at this distance of

6F on dirt, and has two second place stakes finished at

the distance. Been close in her last two races, she may

make the third time a charm here. A little worried that this

will be her 3rd stakes race in less than a month, and she

may be a bit tired here.

3   Flash Me Force: The second entry for Ekli Stable, this

daughter of Force Flemington will be making her 4th

stakes start, and is looking for her first stakes win here.

Last start was on 10/1/11, in the $150.000 Brandywine

Stakes, run at 7F over the dirt at PHA, where Flash

Me Force finished 2nd, after leading for the entire race,

and just getting passed before the wire. Prior to that, on

9/3/11, she finished 7th in the Grade I Darley Debutante,

also run at 7F on dirt, where she posted a career best

94 speed figure. Has a 3rd place finish in the Grade III
Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar, which was run at 6 1/2F

on the dirt. Breezed 6F over the Del Mar dirt 9/13/11,

     in 1:13 and 2.

-The 6F distance of the Showtime Deb looks like a good

fit for Flash Me Force. In her last two stakes races, the

7F has been just a touch long, and cutting back here

should suit her well. Has a 3rd place finish in a graded

stakes race, she could run a really big race here.

4   Wicked Ways: Trained by Broken Spoke Stables, this

filly by Estrella Perdida will be making her 3rd stakes

appearance, and has one ungraded stakes win, which

     came in her last start.

Coming off of an impressive win in the $100.000 Darby's

Daughter TX Stallion Stakes, for TX Bred fillies, at this

distance over the dirt at Retama Park on 9/24/11. Prior

to that, Wicked Ways finished 2nd in the $100.000 TX

Stallion Stakes-Zareta, also at 6F on dirt at Retama for

TX fillies, and she earned a career high 94 speed figure

in that race. Broke her maiden at first asking on 6/26/11

at Lone Star Park in a 5 1/2F dirt $23.000 MSW, where

she earned an nice speed figure of 87. Posted a 6F dirt

work at Retama on 9/11/11, covering the distance in a

     time of 1:11 and 3.

-Brings momentum of her first stakes win last time out,

and this filly has not finished off the board in all three

of her career starts. Will carry two pounds more than

the rest of the field, as a prior stakes winner, but that

should not be a problem for this talented girl. Think

Wicked Ways could get her 2nd stakes win in a row

     here Saturday.

                         Cyn's Picks: 4 - 3 - 2
