With morning line odds of 50-1, then being sent off at 7-1,
Flying Destiny won the $100.000 Showtime Deb Stakes in
an upset, winning by one length and setting a new stakes
record for the 6F dirt race at Hawthorne Race Course for
two-year-old fillies.
Flying Destiny, a two-year-old filly by Date With Destiny, and

her career earnings of $71.90, and a race record of 4-2-0-1.
Wicked Ways finished 2nd, earning $20.000 for her trainer
Broken Spoke Stables, while the Eklie Stable trained Flash
Me Force was 3rd, taking home $16.000 for the show spot.

How the race was run:
1 Flying Destiny: Won by one length. Was sent to
the lead early, where she led by 1/4 of a length at
the quarter pole. At the 1/2 mile mark, was passed
by the 4 horse, and ran in 2nd, until she regained
the lead at the 5/8 mile pole, and pulled in front to
win by one on the wire.
-Ran a fantastic race in the Showtime Deb Stakes.
She could have thrown in the towel after losing the
lead, and running 2nd, but she fought hard, and was
able to get the lead back to finish strong. With as
well as she was closing at the end, looks like Flying
Destiny may do even better going a bit longer.
4 Wicked Ways: Came home 2nd, one length behind
the winner. After breaking sharply, ran in 2nd at the
quarter pole, 1/4 of a length behind the leader. At the
1/2 mile pole, Wicked Ways took the lead, and held
it until the 1 horse reclaimed it at the 5/8 mark, as
Wicked Ways tired a bit to finish 2nd, a length back.
-Ran a great race Saturday. Had she not gotten locked
in a speed duel up front with the eventual winner, she
may have had enough left at the end to hang onto the
lead. Now has a record of 4-2-2-0, and a win and two
second place finishes in stakes company. Be sure to
keep an eye on this talented filly in her future starts.
3 Flash Me Force: Finished 3rd, two lengths from the
winner. Ran 3rd early, just 1/2 of a length from the
lead at the quarter mile pole. As she reached the 1/2
mile mark, had pulled within 1/4 of a length from the
leader, but right after she was finished, as she tired
and faded back two lengths, where she ended up 3rd.
-Ran really well early, but she just came up empty
as she tired after the 1/2 mile mark, and could not
continue to run with the two front-runners. In her last
race, the 7F Brandywine Stakes, run over a good dirt
track, Flash Me Force led the entire race until tiring
just before the wire to finish 2nd, so thought the 6F
here would be a perfect fit. The pace here after the
5/8 mile pole was faster than her last race, and that
may have caused her to tire.
2 High Seas Warfare: Finished in 4th, three lengths
behind the winner. After the break, dropped back to
run in 4th, two lengths from the lead, at the quarter
pole. Came out 4 wide at the 1/2 mile mark, looking
like she was getting ready to make a move, but at
the 5/8 pole, she flattened out, and dropped back a
length to finish three lengths from the winner.
-Not really sure what happened to High Seas Warfare
here. Last time out, she ran well to finish 2nd just a
nose back in the Grade III Tempted at this distance.
She was taken back farther early on here, then where
she has been running her best, so perhaps that may
be why she came up empty here. Keep an eye on her,
as this may be a race that can be thrown out.
