Race 1 12:35
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Allowance Purse $51.500 Filly 3 Year Olds Foaled In FL.
Bigg Spirit from Night Rider Stables sat in a close stalk from the gate but always looked to be going well and pulled away by an easy four lengths to take this nice purse. Claimed for just twelve dollars fifty after winning a maiden claimer last time she clearly is better than that although todays winning time was pretty pedestrian so she may be flattered by the grade. Majestic Life looked to have better form on paper but did not stay the trip today and may need a return to seven furlongs to gain her second win. Occupy Wall Street faded off the front and may have also found this trip a bit too far.
Race 2 12:55
5 Furlongs Turf Maiden Claiming Purse $15.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.
One Cat had been running well without distinction before Rouge River Stables bought her for just over three dollars at auction last year. Given four months to mature she flew from the trail today to score an easy two length win and show that she may well be up to a better grade than this. Caixa Eletronica led from the gate but was blown away by the winners finish and had to settle for second a half clear of Mother Of My Kids who just kept on at the one pace.
Race 3 13:15
1 1/16 Mile Turf Claiming Purse $32.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.
Baby Red from Orinoco Stable won over this course and distance just eleven days ago and made a quick return to score another easy win today. In the stalk from the gate she was pulling double and flew when the jock let out a knot and scooted four lengths clear down the stretch. Coastess came from midpack to get second but never sighted the winner whilst third placed Ghostzilla just kept on at the one pace a length further back.
Race 4 13:35
1 Mile Dirt Allowance/Claiming Purse $60.740 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
The biggest prize of the day went to Maverick Racing as their old warrior Bcc War Eagle made his twentieth start a winning one with a strong four length win. Never far off the leaders he won this in a very smart time and may have found some improvement at four years of age. Maruzensky kept on well into second but the winner had flown by the time he started his run. The wide drawn front runner Ragg Mopp did a lot of work to get to the front and paid the price down the stretch weakening into third.
