RACE 7 GG Berkeley (GIII)
$100.000 4yo&Up 1 1/16m Main Track
A short field of four is set to go a mile and a sixteenth in the 2010 Berkeley (GIII), here at GG on Memorial Day. I think we will have a prohibitive favorite, and he's my choice - Cerano has been all but perfect this season - Three wins and a second from his four starts and he looked sharp at CD last out, winning by a length, facing similar. He shows two local works, including that bullet the other morning and I look for him to run big again today. The Green Card says 1/2 on the exacta, and it looks good to me.
Here's the Field -
1 Cerano no doubt that he is on top of his game right now - three wins from his four starts, and he was second in the other race. Won the Alysheba (GIII) at CD last out, and that was at the distance - use him on all of your tickets!
2 Tempted kicked off the year with a win, but tired a bit in his last to miss the board, but was only a length back in that one. Seems to do his best work on the grass, but did have a good thing going on the main track, once up on a time. Could be worth the price.
3 Mardi Gras always close, but will need his best against this group. Only one stakes start of late, and that was at MNR, and he was third in that - I will have to watch from afar.
4 Regatta fourth in the Ali (GIII) at CD in his most recent, but he was last of four. I think this is going to be a long day at the office, and will need his best to be in the picture.
