The sky was sunny and the track was fast for the second running of The Lady Fingers Stakes at FL. The crowd was ready for action and Carbonizar Raro provided it. The compact bay filly bore down on the field after trailing early to earn her first stakes win by a half length. Her victory came after a thrilling stretch duel with Eternal Glory, who closed in the turn to take the lead mid stretch but came up short at the wire. Apache Squaw was third while early pacesetter Soviet Spy tired to finish fourth. A Jazzy Venture brought up the field.

Carbonizar Raro is the daughter of multiple graded stakes winning sire Bazooka. She was bred in NY by Pink Diamond Stables and purchased by Profeit Stables for $66.000 last March. Carbonizar Raro dropped back at the break to trail and then closed forcefully in the stretch to win driving by a half length. Eternal Glory was off the pace early, made her move in the turn to take the lead in the straight but could not hold back the winner. Apache Squaw broke on the rail, ran off the pace and made a late move to get up for third. Soviet Spy was away quickly to take the lead, opened up six lengths on the field and then faded in the straight. A Jazzy Venture never threatened.
