A small field of sophomore fillies are down to take part in the Silverbulletday Stakes today, one of the prep races for the Fairground Oaks later in the meet. The field is headlined by Graded Stakes placed Numero Ena who on paper looks to be the class of the event. Since finishing up second by a head in the Delta Princess back in November of last year she has not had a published work. If she maintains the form that she was in back then she will be the one to beat and by the looks of things her owner/trainer is very confident in her abilities and therefore she should be an easy winner.
She Will from the barn of Rogue River Stables seems to be improving rapidly and with only three starts to her name she will most definitely gain from this experience. She Will has hit the board in all her three starts winning two of them and placing third in her debut, she ran a mile and sixteenth in a good time of 1:42 3/5 winning her none-winners of two races lifetime allowance race, she now steps up for a shot at being a Stakes winner.
Even though she is stakes places Mars Baby may not have a winning chance but she could be up in the money when this is being decided. Her works are okay but not a wow factor and maybe she needs to develop more before we can see what she is made of.
Dynamite Punch recently broke her maiden literally two weeks ago and she is taking a major leap into Stakes company, fortunately for her there is not too many entrants and she could stand a chance but a winning run is highly unlikely.
Another recent maiden winner Anna Va In Tennessee is bred to get a distance of ground but she looks more built for turf and maybe that’s her calling in racing because she will not hit the board and a winning run is not in the cards.
Finally, Wild General rounds out the field of six fillies and she looks to be one fit equine, she has speed and stamina winning from five and a half furlongs to nine furlongs, so distance should not be an issue for her. If the favorite should falter then Wild General would be there to pick up the pieces and steal the show.
