Dancers Halo (Razorback Racing) was second off the gate and was quickly settled along the rail a length and change off the pace setting G1 Begood. Dancers Halo began to tighten up and moce towards the outside as they approached the turn. He got up beside the leader as these two had now gapped off the rest of the field by about five lengths. They fought for a bit down the lane but Dancers Halo was showing the way by the last furlong and it was a no doubter from then on.
FG 2 -- 5 1/2 Furlongs Dirt Claiming Purse $17.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.
Black Jack Rhythm (Hambletonian Stable) was off sixth and headed into the turn that way in between horses. He started to accelarate on the corner and found room to the outside as that horse who was previously station there had faded back. Getting even with fourth place, lady luck smiled again on Black Jack Rhythm as the lead three horses blocking his way now split, leaving ample room for him to get by. He did so with ease, taking over the lead in the final furlong and romping away to victory.
FG 3 -- 6 Furlongs Dirt Claiming Purse $23.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.
Havana Smith (Running Farms) cleared around a horse and settled into second place as they reached the bend. She pulled the trigger and started her move on the odds on favorite and leader Hope For Miracle. Havana Smith sat stalled a quarter of a length off for awhile put started inching up as they entered the final furlong. She showed the way slightly then started to move up more in the last half furlong, cinching her second lifetime win.
FG 4 -- 6 Furlongs Dirt Starter Allowance Purse $20.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.
The grey filly Baby Sword (Night Rider Stables) was backed off the early speed and sat a couple lengths back fourth until the reached the corner. She grinded up to third heading into the corner but was lacking racing room until the stretch where the lead two moved away from the rail and Baby Sword's jockey realized that, swinging her back inside and sending her up the hole for her second lifetime win.
FG 5 -- 5 1/2 Furlongs Turf Allowance Purse $49.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.
Personal Style (Simmer Down Stable) was all business today getting right to the front leading this field from gate to wire. The four year old Personal Flag autogen filly set some solid fractions on the engine as she picked up her fourth lifetime win in seven starts.
FG 6 -- 1 Mile Turf Allowance Purse $56.350 Open 2 Year Olds.
Aussie Rocket (Kopites) was urged on towards the lead on the outside as the field all remained bunched within three lengths as they headed into the first turn. The newly acquired Aussie Rocket pressed on six wide into the turn, surging up around the corner and taking a slight lead past the three furlong pole. She opened up on her lead a bit, allowing her to get over to the two wide lane midway down the backstretch. Moving around the final turn, Aussie Rocket only had one filly to worry about to her inside a half length off. While the pace started to slow in the final furlong, she still maintained a three quarter length advantage as her challenger could only follow a long to the wire. Second win in six tries for the autogen with HRP-Australian bloodlines.
FG 7 -- Kudzu Juvenile
5 1/2 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $35.000 Open 2 Year Olds.
Blind As A Bat (Mm Stables) shocked them all with a 37-1 upset shocker in the Kudzu Juvenile. The 2 year old son of Eviction Notice pressed the early pace and quickly took over the lead, setting the pace his own way and winning in confidence by a length over runner up El Gran Le Feu. Blind As A Bat made his dirt debut in this race and was lightly regarded by the bettors despite a stellar win late last month here on the turf in a NX1 event. Third win in five career starts for the colt who now has $88.580 in earnings.
