The Rainbow Connection Stakes
A five furlong turf Stake for fillies and Mares
1 – Mars Attacks, Night Rider Stables
This four year old is an honest sort but looks well out classed in this event. I think that the best she can hope for is NOT to finish last.
2 – Rain Of arrows, Rockitpad
Only once out of the frame in fourteen races her last win came over this trip and whilst she has run admirably over longer she may in fact be at her best over a minimum trip. Her works have been pretty good and she has both speed and stamina to burn so may get a piece of the action today
3 – Know How, Australia Wide
A winner of eight from ten this four year old has been campaigned at a lower grade to give her time to mature. She likes this trip but can win over further and with her trainer a master of protecting his win percentage she must come here with some stable confidence behind her.
4 – Miss Taylor, Dandy Dan Stables
A prolific winner but at a lower grade she is a confirmed turf sprinter who can zip along but may find a few too good for her today. Her trainer is throwing her in the deep end and I cannot see her winning but she will give an honest account of herself.
5 – Foggy Friday, Mo Mentum Farm
This is one of the few with lots of stakes and graded stakes form to her name. Her last win was over a mile and sixteenth and she was twice Oaks placed last year however so may find this trip a bit sharp. Expect to see her running on at the end but it may be over too quickly for her.
6 – Claustrophobic, Dynark Stables
A winner of eight she is a fast girl who has gained five of her wins on the grass. A recent dirt campaign may have muddied the waters where her form is concerned but a fast start will put her right in this. You cannot write off one from this stable but I think she will be fighting for second or third today.
This is not a strong race considering the purse and there are a wide range of abilities competing so there could be an upset here. However I will go for number 3 to beat 2,4 and 6
