Longacres Mile Grade III

All got a smooth start in the Longacres Mile, but one, Copious Notes who decided not to compete in the Longacres and had been scratched.  He had won the race in 2009, setting a track record at the time of 1:34.95 which still stands today.  Long Line Of Losers got up front and snag the lead with has been Just Joey staying a length behind Long Line Of Losers. 

German Sausage, Buster Brick and Standing Room Only  are keeping to the back.  For the first half mile they keep their positions, Long Line Of Losers still leading and Just Joey now half a length away from the lead. With three furlongs, Just Joey moves up challenging Long Line Of Losers for the lead.  German Sausage urges forward along with Buster Brick. 

Buster Brick moves to the inside while German Sausage goes to the outside, getting within half a length of Long Line Of Losers and Just Joey.  German Sausage quickly catches them and passes them up, creating  a length gap between him and the field. 

Just Joey quickly drops out from any chance of being in the money while the rest still move strong.  To the wire German Sausage reaches, the $4.750 claimer winning his first graded stakes.  His streak did not end here but continues on to six wins in a row.  He finished at a time 1:35.93.  Buster Brick finished second with a time 1:36.24 and Long Line Of Losers finished third with a time 1:36.60.
