Sweet Honey Ryder stayed mid pack early and made a run late to take the Pines Stakes by two lengths. The Rouge River Stables home bred went off as the favorite and she so eloquently nailed her first stakes win in her first stakes start. The filly has now earned $149.600 in five career starts.
Warrior Damsel went out with the front runners early and came within a quarter length entering the stretch drive but could not keep up with the driving Sweet Honey Ryder. The filly settled for a second place finish.
Hot Dixie Chick stayed back early but never fired. The three-year-old finished in third place, three lengths out.
Senorita Fuego stayed back early and never challenged. The filly finished five lengths out.
Venus Warrior set the pace early only to fade down the stretch. The three-year-old finished seven lengths out.
