Congratulations to Paradise Stable and to Funky Music on their win in the Grade II DEL Oaks.
Funky Music stayed back early but never trailed by more than one length until she kicked it in to high gear down the stretch to win by three quarters of a length. The three-year-old went off as the favorite and nearly broke the track record with her dramatic run. The Paradise Stable certainly made for her not so great run in the Grade I The Acorn.
Blow Me To The Moon briefly took the lead late but could not hold off the driving Funky Music settling for a second place finish. The filly looks like she has righted her ship since her thirteenth place finish in the KY Oaks.
Swell Mover went out with the front runners early trailing by only a neck. The three-year-old could not keep up with the blistering pace set late settling for a third place finish, two lengths out.
Panning For Gold stayed back early and never made a run for the wire finishing in fourth place, two lengths out.
Miss That Man went out in front early setting the pace but faded late to round out the rear.
