In the first running of the CT Oaks Stakes for three-year-old fillies we expect sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid eighties with no chance of precipitation. Lets take a look at the 2010 field lining up for the CT Oaks Stakes.
Dynark Stables comes out of post number one with multiple stakes winner and graded stakes winner Point To Royalty. Point To Royalty, purchased via auction from Alberti Stables on March 13, 2010 for $100.780 is looking to win her first stakes race for current owner Dynark Stables after notching her first graded stakes win in the Grade III Senorita Stakes, winning by two lengths. Point To Royalty last worked on September 13, 2010 working :58.76 at BEL over five furlongs.
Green Power, owned and trained by Eastern Equine is looking for her second stakes race victory following her first stake race win in the La Lorgnette Stakes on May 23, 2010. The home bred filly is looking to rebound after a poor run in the Grade I The CCA Oaks on July 24, 2010. Green Power worked :22.35 on September 13, 2010.
Aml Racing comes out of gate number three with Overbrook. Overbrook is in search for her first stakes victory following an allowance race win on August 23, 2010 at FL. Overbrook last worked on August 16, 2010 at SAR, working :59.51 over five furlongs on the dirt.
Peppermint Patty, owned and trained by Yahudi Stables comes out of gate number four. Peppermint Patty is victorious in four of her six career starts and the home bred filly is looking for her third consecutive victory following two allowance race wins. Peppermint Pattys latest triumph came on July 29, 2010 at DMR. Peppermint Patty last worked on September 14, 2010 :59.52 over five furlongs on the dirt, a bullet work.
BomBay Stables comes out of gate number five with Thumbzie. Thumbzie is in search for her second career victory and first stakes win. The home bred fillys last victory came on December 12, 2009 at HOL, winning an allowance race. Thumbzie is coming back on to the dirt after a two race stint on the turf. Thumbzie has finished on the board in nine of her twelve career starts. Thumbzie worked a bullet work on September 9, 2010, working :47.60 over four furlongs on the dirt.
Dynamite Rose, owned and trained by Pocket Aces Racing comes out of post number six. Dynamite Rose is a multiple stakes winner, her last stakes race win coming on July 30, 2010 at PHA in the Roanoke, winning by two lengths. Dynamite Rose has nine victories in fourteen career starts and has finished on the board in eleven of fourteen starts. On August 12, 2010, Dynamite Rose worked a :58.04 bullet at PEN.
Harrowden comes out of gate number seven with home bred multiple graded stakes winner Sparkling Wine. Sparkling Wine is in search for her sixth consecutive finish in the money and is looking to add on to her career earnings total of $627.460. Sparkling Wine won her last graded stakes race on August 7, 2010 in the Grade I The Test, winning by two lengths with a strong finish. On September 11, 2010 Sparkling Wine worked a bullet over five furlongs, :1:12.61.
Rounding out the field of eight is Fair Charmer, owned and trained by Joseph Racing. Fair Charmer was purchased via the auction on March 14, 2010 by Joseph Racing for $357.610. Fair Charmer, bred by Pink Diamond Stables is looking to repeat her come from behind performance in the Grade III Azalea Stakes on July 10, 2010, winning by a quarter length. On September 12, 2010, Fair Charmer worked 1:14.25 over six furlongs in the slop.
