Congratulations to Point To Royalty and Dynark Stables and to Dynamite Rose and Pocket Aces Racing for their dead heat finish and on setting the new track record in the 2010 CT Oaks Stakes race.
Point To Royalty and Dynamite Rose set a new track record in the 2010 CT Oaks Stakes with a dead heat finish and a winning time of 1:22.24. Although the two fillies took different roads to the wire, they both accomplished their goal. Point To Royalty stayed back, never to fall further than two lengths back. Ultimately, Point To Royalty made her move at the three quarter pole to finish in a dead heat with Dynamite Rose. Dynamite Rose went out in front early and set the pace at the quarter pole with a time of :22.61. Dynamite Rose would never get further than one length in front but the home bred filly held on for a dead heat track record setting finish with the oncoming Point To Royalty.
Green Power went out with the front runners early with blistering speed but could not get by Dynamite Rose and the pressure provided courtesy of Point To Royalty and settled for a third place finish. Green Power has now finished in the money in ten of thirteen career starts and has increased her career earnings total to $425.11.
Overbrook fell back in sixth place but only two lengths out at the quarter pole and came within one length of the win but could not get by the front runners. Overbrook kept up with the fast pace set early by Dynamite Rose.
Sparkling Wine fell back early, six lengths back at the half mile marker to finish two lengths off the lead and in fifth place. Sparkling Wine ends her consecutive in the money finishes streak at five.
Thumbzie fell back four lengths early and could not get by the tight pack for a sixth place finish, only two lengths out. Thumbzie is now winless in her last six races dating back to her last victory as a two-year-old on December 12, 2009.
Peppermint Patty went out in front early and faded late for a seventh place finish, three lengths out in her first stakes race.
Fair Charmer rounded out the field of eight finishing in last place, three lengths out. Fair Charmer came within three quarters of a length out at the half mile marker but could not keep up with the front runners.
