Unlimited Potential was listed as the 1-2 favorite showed exactly how easy it was taking on these state bred fillies and mares. The field was small but filled with talent as there were two runners who were consistently making the grade in Graded Stakes Company.
Long shot Espaniola shot to the lead as the gates flew open but she was not alone as Unlimited Potential was already putting pressure on, then three lengths behind were Reason to Earn, Helenoa and Native Gold running at the back. As they entered the back stretch the positions remained the same with Espaniola cruising along the rail and Unlimited Potential still staying with her waiting for a perfect striking opportunity, the others were still three lengths from the front.
Still no changes up on the front end as the two challengers were almost neck and neck, in behind horses beginning to make up some ground were Native Gold and Reason to Earn, and Helenoa was left at the back. Turning for home Espaniola was not done yet as she found a little extra and still had her head in front of the favorite and making gains front the back Reason to Earn. Passing the sixteenth Unlimited Potential changed her lead and surged to the front pulling away as they approached the wire, Helenoa shot up the rail trying to catch the leaders but the wire was too close and she had to settle for third. Reason to Earn and Native Gold tied for fourth place.
Unlimited Potential is a
