                                                           Price Juvenile

For Two Year Olds Foaled in FL

                                                        7 Furlongs Dirt

                                                        Purse: $125.000

                                                At Calder Race Course

                                         On Saturday November 12, 2011

The track was fast and Firm at the Calder Race Course, as we got ready to run the Price Juvenile. A field of five youngsters were set to go in this State Bred race. Lets see how this one went down here on Saturday.

Echos Of Love / Scorcher - What a Finish! Echos Of Love ridden by jockey Daniel Centeno and Scorcher ridden by Elvis Trujillo finished this one in a Dead Heat. Echos Of Love going off as the post time favorite was fourth at the start and a length from the front. Scorcher breaking well was out and sitting in fifth just two lengths from the leader. Hitting the half mile marker Echos Of Love found himself now sitting in third position and within a length of striking distance. Scorcher still trailing the others at the half mile, but jockey Elvis Trujillo started to get to work on him. Turning in to the stretch run the two found themselves hooked up and eye to eye. Nothing between them, as both jockeys were all out. Three lengths in front of the others they hit the line together and when this photo came back it was determined that this one had finished in a Dead Heat. Running the 7 furlongs on the Fast Track in 1:23.67. Echos Of Love picks up a check for $50.000 for owner and breeder First Flight Stable and Scorcher takes home $50.000 for owner Dynark Stables.

Hollywood Savant - Ridden by jockey Paco Lopez. Came out of the gate and was in great position in third and a length from the leader. As he hit the half mile pole he now had lost a position in fourth, but was still only a length from the leader. Turning for home he was last of the five, but jockey Paco Lopez started to pick him up and he closed on some of the others to run third. He went out for owner and breeder Rockitpad and the owner takes home a cash prize of $20.000 for their run.

Hot Hammer - Ridden by Fernando Jara. Was pushed out of the gate, and right to the lead by Fernando Jara. Going to the quarter pole in: 23 flat he had the lead by a half a length. As he now hit the half mile the lead was only a neck and the time: 46 and one with Sharp Mist buzzing in his ear. Has he hit the turn and was getting to head in to the stretch Fernando had hoped for more out of him, but there was nothing left, as others past him and he finished fourth. He went to out for owner and breeder Thinken Stables and took back $5.000 for their run today.

Sharp Mist  - Ridden by Manual Aguilar. Came out of the shoot, and sat behind Hot Hammer while hitting the quarter pole, as he was just a half length from the lead. Now Manual giving him a nudge he came up at the half mile pole to sit a neck of leader Hot Hammer. As he hit the straightaway he started to back up, as others came up from behind him and he went on to finish fifth. He went out for owner and breeder Running With Rick D.

Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
