Mrs Revere Stakes Draws Quite a Crowd

                           Mrs Revere- Grade II

                       11/12/11  Churchill Downs

                          Three-Year-Old Fillies

                            1 1/16 Over the Turf

                               Purse: $201.250

The 2011 Grade II Mrs Revere Stakes Saturday at Churchill Downs

will feature quite a crowd, drawing a field of ten three-year-old fillies

set to run the 1 1/16 over the turf. Last year the race was won by

Millionaire Heiress, trained by Pumpkin Racing, who set a stakes

record, and this year the trainer will try to win the race back to back,

bringing filly Wild Temptation to the race Saturday.

Maahes, who just ran last Friday in the BC Fillies & Mares Turf race

and ran a great finishing 4th for trainer Fatboy Slayer, will run here in

the Mrs Revere, and this will be her fourth graded stakes race in about

45 days. The talented filly may have a rough go of it here after such a

short turnaround off of her BC race, and so many big races in a short

period of time but if she is not tired, she always runs hard, and could

surprise here.

Mrs John Q Adams, will race for trainer Maverick Racing, and after

ending a five stakes win streak last time out, where she unsuccessfully

tried her hand at sprinting and finished 8th, in the Grade I Nearctic, she

returns to the routing races, where she has dominated this summer and

early fall. As the only filly in the field, who has won a Grade I race since

8/22/11, she will carry 126 lbs, four more than everyone else in the field.

As always she could be very dangerous, but we will have to see if the

added weight slows her down here.

Warbling trained by Dynark Stables was on the also eligible list for last

weekend's BC Fillies & Mares Turf race, and did not draw in will run in the

Mrs Revere instead, and looks to have a shot here. And speaking of the

BC Fillies & Mares Turf, Chateau Gill who trained the 2010 winner, and

this year's runner up Madame Harriet, sends out Desert Angel, a filly

who like Madam Harriet is a homebred by stallion Fast Penny. Perhaps

Desert Angel is on her way to following in the hooves of her big sis.

The field of three-year-old fillies going postward Saturday in the Grade II

Mrs Revere is a varied one, and as always with a field of this size, traffic

could be a problem. Hopefully these girls will get a clean trip, and we will

see an exciting post BC race at Churchill Downs!

1    Mrs John Q Adams: Trained by Maverick Racing, this filly by

will be making her 12th stakes start. She has five stakes wins,

four of them graded, and all five were in a row until her last race.

Last time out, Mrs John Q Adams ran in the Grade I Nearctic,

on 10/16/11, and finished a disappointing 8th in the 6F turf

race. Prior to that, she won five stakes races in a row on turf,

ranging in distance from one mile to 1 1/8. Two of those wins

came at the Mrs Revere distance of 1 1/16, and one was in

the Grade II Lake George, run 7/27/11 over the Saratoga turf.

-In her run in the Nearctic, it looked like Mrs John Q Adams

did not like sprinting, and the pace was faster than what she

has been used to. She is back going longer than a mile, and

think she should run very well here. My top pick of the race,

she may be dangerous on Saturday.

2    Good Looking Again: This filly by Island Express is making

her first start for trainer Tirstar Stables, who purchased her on

10/10/11 for $50.000 from Running Farms. She will be making

her stakes debut here in the Mrs Revere.

Comes out of a $35.000 Claiming race at Belmont, run at this

distance over the turf on 9/28/11, where after leading most of

the race, she tired near the end, was passed, and finished 2nd.

Good Looking Again has one career win on the turf, which was

in a 5F $6.200 Allowance over the soft RD turf on 5/2/11.

-This looks like a tough spot for Good Looking Again to make her

stakes debut. Last race was at this distance in a claiming race

and distance was too long, and her only turf win came sprinting.

Her two wins this year were in a $25.000 Claiming race, and a

$6.200 Allowance race, against much softer company then the

multiple graded stakes winners she faces here.

3    Diva The Weenie: Trained by J L Stables, this lightly raced filly

by Laffin Policeman will be making her 5th stakes start, and this

will be her graded stakes debut. She has two stakes wins, both

at one mile on the turf.

In her last start on 9/24/11, Diva The Weenie won the $150.000

Raspberry stakes at Louisiana Downs for LA Bred fillies, where

she went wire to wire and won the one mile turf race by a length.

Her other stakes win came 7/10/11 in the one mile turf $75.000

Le Cle Stakes at Hollywood Park.

-Has never run at 1 1/16 on the grass, but four of her five career

wins, including her two stakes wins were at a mile on turf, and

if Diva The Weenie runs like she did in her last race, it looks like

the small increase in distance should not be a problem. Comes

into the race riding the momentum of a stakes win last time out,

and has won five of her nine races, so think we will see a big run

      from her Saturday.

4    Warbling: Trained by Dynark Stables, this filly by Promissory

Note will start in her 13th stakes race here, and has four stakes

wins, one of them graded. Was on the AE list for the BC Fillies

& Mares Turf race here last Saturday.

Last start was 10/15/11 at Keeneland in the Grade I QE II Cup

Challenge, where Warbling finished 5th in the 1 1/8 race on turf.

Her most recent win was her graded stakes win, in the one mile

turf Grade III ONT Colleen run at Woodbine on 8/27/11. Two of

her four stakes wins were on turf, and both at one mile.

-Warbling has never raced at 1 1/16 on the grass, but with her

closing style, distance should not be a problem. Disappointing

in her last race, but that Grade I had a lot of tough competition,

and the field here is a bit softer, so she could run well.

5    Desert Angel: Trained by Chateau Gill, this lightly raced filly

is a daughter of Fast Penny, and will be making just her 9th

lifetime start, and her 2nd stakes start. Big sister Madame

Harriet, also by sire Fast Penny and trained by Chateau Gill

finished 2nd last weekend in the BC Fillies & Mares Turf, and

      won the race in 2010.

Desert Angel last ran on 9/3/11 in a $52.000 Allowance race

at this 1 1/16 distance over the Saratoga turf, which she won.

Her other win, when she broke her maiden was also at 1 1/16

over the grass. Her only prior stakes race was in January of

this year at Gulfstream Park in the one mile turf $100.000 The

Sweetest Chant Stakes, where she finished 4th.

-Less experienced than some in the field, and making her

graded stakes debut, but she is one of only a handful in the

field who has won more than once on turf at the Mrs Revere

distance. Has only finished off the board twice in her career,

expect a big effort from Desert Angel Saturday.

6    Crafty Date: Trained by Riggins Racing, this AG daughter of

HRP-Crafty Admiral will be running in her 7th stakes race here,

and looks for her first stakes win.

Coming off a win on 10/14/11 at Calder in a $25.000 Optional

Claiming race, which was run at this 1 1/16 distance over the

turf. In her most recent stakes attempt on 9/2/11, Crafty Date

finished 5th in the one mile turf $75.000 Riskaverse Stakes

at Saratoga, where she closed and looked like she wanted

more distance. Best stakes finish has been 3rd, which she

has finished twice, once in graded company.

-Crafty Date comes into the race after a win at this distance

and in her most recent stakes race, one mile was too short,

so the 1 1/16 turf of the Mrs Revere looks like a good fit for

her as far as distance is concerned. Has struggled a bit in

previous graded stakes attempts but seems like she has

matured a bit and is running better since her last graded

stakes race. Think she could put in a big run here.

7    Maahes: Trained by Fatboy Slayer, this filly by Nineveh is

making her 15th stakes start, and has three stakes wins,

two of those graded. Just ran eight days ago in the big BC
Fillies & Mared Turf race, and this will be her 4th graded

stakes race in just 43 days.

Last time out was last week on 11/4/11, in the Grade I BC
Fillies & Mares Turf race, run at 1 3/8 over the turf here at

Churchill, where Maahes ran a great race to finish 4th in

the field of fourteen. One of her graded stakes wins came

at this distance on turf, in the Grade III Boiling Springs, at

      Monmouth on 6/25/11.

-I am a big fan of Maahes and think she is a very talented

filly, but worry she may be a bit run down after just coming

out of a BC race last weekend, where she ran a huge race.

She has had a strenuous race schedule over the last two
months and may not be in her top form here. However, she

always runs with huge heart, and could surprise Saturday,

      so can't count her out.

8    Top Class: Trained by Ken Allan, this filly by Top Kancha

makes her 7th stakes start here, and has one ungraded

stakes win, which came last year as a two-year-old.

Coming out of the 1 1/8 turf Grade III Pucker Up Stakes run

at Arlington Park on 9/17/11, where Top Class finished 6th,

and earned a career high 96 speed figure. Her last win was

at this 1 1/16 distance on turf in a $32.500 Allowance race

run at Arlington Park on 8/27/11. Her one stakes win was

in the one mile turf $75.000 La Senorita Stakes at Retama

      last year at age 2.

-Top Class has run four of her last five races at this distance

on turf, and has won two, and in the other two, the 1 1/16

was to long, and she tired near the end of the race. She

has been a bit inconsistent in her races as far as distance

is concerned, so we will have to see what running style she

brings to the Mrs Revere. If she runs like she did in her last

win on 8/27/11, she could run well here.

9    Wild Temptation: Trained by Pumpkin Racing, who won

this race last year, this filly by Tennesse Jed is making her

7th stakes appearance here, and has one ungraded stakes

win, which came two races back.

Last race came on 10/14/11, in the $100.000 Buffalo Trace

Franklin County stakes at Keeneland, where she finished

4th in the 5 1/2F turf race. Prior to that, Wild Temptation

won the 5F turf, $200.000 Turf Amazon Handicap on 9/5/11

at PHA. Has never raced as far as 1 1/16 on grass, and the

longest she has run on turf came in the one mile Grade III
Senorita Stakes at Hollywood Park on 5/7/11, where she

finished 9th. Since then she has been sprinting only.

-This may be a tough spot for Wild Temptation. All of her

career wins have come in sprint races, and she has a

sprinter's conformation. Her last race at 5 1/2F over turf,

she closed, and finished one length back, looking like

she wanted more distance, however the jump to 1 1/16

may be too much distance for her.

10   Simply Excellent: Trained by Chili King Stables, this

filly by His Excellency will be making her 10th start in

stakes company and has two stakes wins, one of those

       graded.

Last ran in the Grade I QE II Cup Challenge on 10/15/11

at 1 1/8 over the turf at Keeneland. Simply Excellent ran

well early in the race in 2nd, just off the leader, but by the

3/4 mile pole was finished and faded three lengths back

to finish in 4th. Last win came 7/16/11 at 1 1/8 on turf in

the Grade III VA Oaks. Before that had not won since

last year at age two, on 9/1/10 when she won at 1 1/16

turf in the $75.000 The Johnson Stakes.

-Has struggled in her last two races, both graded stakes,

where Simply Excellent has not finished in the money.

Has only one win this year which came against softer

company than what she will face here Saturday. Two of

her three career wins have been at 1 1/16 on turf, so we

know she can get the distance, but she will need to not

go fast early and like she did in her last start, causing

her to tire before the end.
