River City Handicap Grade III
For Three Year Olds And Upward
Going a Mile and an Eighth on the Turf Course
For a purse of $115.000
at Churchill Downs
on Saturday November 19, 2011

Bottom Line was ridden by V Lebron, and out of the gate would be placed ninth in the opening quarter.  He really sat off the pace throughout the race to be sixth at the half.  The half went in in :46 and three fifths and only three lengths from the front.  Now that the field had entered into the backstretch.  In the bacstretch Lebron moved him up to be third by the three quarters of mile.  As the field turned for home Lebron moved him to be on the lead.  Into the stretch he was able to rally Bottom Line to be cleared by three lengths.  He covered the mile and an eighth on the sod in a new track record in 1:44.31 for owner Sir Edward Estates.  Congratulations to the connections!

Willie Mays fought for the lead coming out of the gate with Trading Punches the six horse.  In the opening quarter Willie Mays was second by a nose, and stayed pushing the pace to the half mile in the clubhouse turn to be second by a quarter of a length.  From there he would go on to take the lead by the three quarters of a mile marker.  From there he would meet up with Bottom Line, and would give way to him to finish second for owner Calia Stable.

Skip A Line was in the mix early to be fifth about two and a half lengths from the lead at the opening quarter.  From there he would get up to be third by the half mile.  He would manage to hold his position as he came down the stretch to finish third for owner Chain Reaction.

Thunder Alley sat way off the pace throughout the majority of the race to be eighth early.  He started to make his move when the field turned for the far turn.  In the far turn he rallied to be seventh about six lengths.  From there he was now in the stretch and went on to rally to get up to be fourth for owner Pumpkin Racing.

St Bartholomew was in the mix early to be third about three quarters of a length from off the pace in the opening quarter.  From there he would fade be fifth by three lengths at the half.  He would finish there for owner RNP Stables.

Lookin At Ya was dead last of ten coming out of the gate, and stayed there throughout eight of the nine furlongs.  With one furlong left he rallied to get up to be sixth.  He might have done better in this race, but he was so far off the pace to make such a late rally.  He finished sixth for owner Nj Vets.

Not Ripe Yet got out of the gate to be sixth at the opening quarter.  From there he would fade to be ninth until the final stretch run.  In the stretch he rallied in the stretch to get up to be seventh for owner TwinTowersRacing.

Double Ridge showed some early speed as he was fourth throughout the opening half mile.  From there he would start to fade, and go on to finish eighth for owner Mfm Stables.

Trading Punches set the opening quarters for this field.  The opening half was set in :46 and three fifths.  From there he went to the three quarters in 1:09 and three fifths.  From there he started to fade.  He would finish ninth for owner Thinken Stables.

Need A Marlboro started out to be seventh, and he would go on to advance to be sixth.  He would go on to finish tenth for owner Dynark Stables.

Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
