6 1/2 Furlongs Dirt Maiden Special Weight Purse $46.000 Open 2 Year Olds.
It took a bit of looking but there were some good clues that the outsider for this contest was a good bet to win. Joba C Inch from Running Farms had consistently worked at the sixty second mark for five furlongs pre race and after a steady debut looked primed for a big run today. Starting steadily the colt that cost only nine dollars made good ground to join the leaders and pulled readily clear to win by a nice two lengths. This one looks a good sort and should be winning again whilst runner up Casual Attire who showed speed from the gate kept on well enough to suggest a maiden win is around the corner. Cast Party went to the stalk but looked pretty one paced all the way down the stretch keeping on to be a further neck back in third.

1 Mile Turf Claiming Purse $21.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up
Work Zone from Axeman Stable held a narrow lead for much of the race but when asked to really get down to business the three year old found more and pulled away for a handy one length win. Going over the line in a very handy 1 minute and thirty three I suspect this is another one of those three year olds that has had a form boost and he could well find himself in better company as a four year old. Slippery Eel was in a close stalk from the off but could not quicken under pressure and just whacked away for second a further length clear of A lot Of Money who did not seem to stay this trip at this pace.
Race 3 13:20
1 1/16 Mile Turf Starter Allowance Purse $20.000 Open 2 Year Olds.
The Real Meshod from Aml Racing made it three in a row with an all the way half length win in this hot looking starter allowance to end the day. The son of Mehsod is unbeaten since being gelded and looks the type who is still improving and could stack up a few more wins in this type of race. Gold Touch stalked the winner throughout but when the whips came out he was out battled and had to settle for second. Thrill To Freedom stayed on nicely for third and looks a nice prospect for the stable over a route trip.
