September 1 2008

Well the great Canterbury Park closed today on Labor Day after a four month meet here. We have enjoyed our time, and all the great racing that it brought. But like any great meet it is time to look at who won the titles at Canterbury Park, and without further ado here our the 2008 Winners:

First lets start with Owners Earnings and that goes to C R Racing with a total $781.210 which should be no surprise as C R Racing was the top owner at Canterbury Park, and would capture as much as three wins in a day. Hambletonian came in second with $390.120 after sending in a bunch of horses for some big stakes races, and he had a great weekend then. Meat would was a fixture here at Catnerbury Park, mainly in the beginning meet. He finishes third with $362.580.

Now it is time to see who won the Owner Title for Wins, and once again no surprise here as C R Racing will take it with 49 wins out of 336 starts. This gave him a 14.6% winning percentage and a 52.4% In the Money percentage which is great for this stable. 30 West squeaks out second with 28 as he did take a win in the closing weekend. Second was open for the claiming for awhile. Barcelona Farms will take third with 26 wins. Barcelona Farms was in second for a very long time here at Canterbury Park. In the last month really Barcelona Farms did not have as many entries.
