The track came up fast today, and Belle Of Tristarc would go off as the post time favorite. Mezzanisi went out and took the early lead, but would give up the lead by the top of the stretch for another to go on to win. Lets see how this all unfolded.
Futo Vatten got out to be fourth in the early going of this race to spot the field about five lengths. As the field raced out of the Club House turn into the back stretch she went to the half to be third about four lengths from the leader Mezzanisi. The field turned into the far turn to be third by two and a quarter lengths. Into the stretch Ramon Dominguez rallied him get up for the win for owner Hambletonian Stable with a time of 1:40.06 for the mile and a sixteenth over the firm sod.
Belle Of Tristarc was the post time favorite. Out of the gate she was second about two lengths from the front. She well handled down the back stretch to continue to be second at the half. Alex Solis really struggled to get her to rally in the stretch, and she would go on to finish second for owner Ekli Stable.
Three Queens did not get off to a good start and would be last and spot the field about five lengths. Jockey Javier Castellano kept her off the pace, and when they reached the top of the stretch she rallied to get up to be third for owner Running Farms.
Mezzanisi was the early pacesetter, and she opened the first quarter in a slow :24 seconds flat. She came to the half in :47 and three fifths seconds. This would be a :23 and three fifths second quarter. This showed she had stepped up the pace a bit. As she took the field to the three quarters pole she brought them in 1:11 flat which was a :23 and two fifths second quarter. She had sped it up but with the soft opening quarter, I think she hurt her chances in the stretch. She goes on to finish fourth for owner Pocket Aces Racing.
Misty Eyes was in it early to be third by five lengths at the opening quarter. It would be from there on she would continue to fade, to go on to finish fifth for owner Night Rider Stables.
Final Thought- Iwin gave you the exact order of finish for this race, which means he gave you the winning trifecta which paid $19.30 for a one dollar bet.
Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
