The track came up fast today, and Guard Of Honor would go off as the post time favorite. An early speed duel developed up on the lead, but one would give away and the other would go on to win. Lets see how this all unfolded.
Estastisticos Munez was the fourth choice here at 3.85 to 1. He broke well on top to take the field to the opening quarter in :22 and three fifths second. Now according to the stewards he was second by a nose going to the half and five furlongs. If you watch the replay it surely looks like Estastisticos Munez and Guard Of Honor were exchanging blows back and forth as they entered into the far turn. At the top of the stretch he was stick nose to nose with Guard Of Honor. Into the stretch he broke away to go on to win by a neck. He covered the six furlongs in 1:09.61 for owner Maxmillion Farm.
The Worlds My Stage broke in the middle of the pack to be third by two and a quarter lengths. By the far turn he had fallen back to be fourth, but had shorten his lead to the front to only a length and three quarters. R Maragh kept urging him down the stretch and he rallied with King Arthur II to his outside, to pass the fading Guard Of Honor to get up to finish second, just a neck behind the winner. He is owned by Night Rider Stables.
Guard Of Honor got into an early speed dual shortly after the opening quarter, and as the field turned in the far turn. He was nose to nose with Estastisticos Munez through the next quarter to the half in :45 and two fifths seconds. That was a :22 and four fifths second quarter. Still clipping away at a decent pace for this field. Into the stretch he started to tire, and would fade to finish third for owner Wolf Ridge Stables.
King Arthur II broke to be last of five here today. As they went down the back stretch King Arthur II started to make a move. Jockey Joe Bravo switched him to the outside about three wide, and this duo started to move. Too bad for them, it was a little too late and they ran out of running room to finish fourth for owner First Flight Stable.
Thirlling Star will round out this field of five. He got out to be fourth in the early going down the back stretch by two and a half lengths. From there he faded to be fifth by the half mile by two and three quarters length. He would go on to finish fifth for owner Chili King Stables.
Final Thought- Both Iwin and The Tout gave you the Trifecta which paid $28.70 for a one dollar bet.
Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
