AQU 5                          The Gazelle ( Gr. I )- Recap

$250.000                          For Three Year old Fillies                         Mile and an eighth                      Dirt

___________________________________________________________________________________

When looking for two horses who will use every muscle, even ounce of energy and every bit of guts and determination to try to win a race, look no further then Dynark Stables Blow Me To The Moon ( *0.70 ) and Maverick Racing's My Mommy Is My Aunt ( 6.00 ). These two sophomores put in one of the most stellar performances of the season, both trying to earn their second Grade I title of their career, and it would come down to a difference of one one-hundredth of second at the wire in favor of the post-time favorite Blow Me To The Moon.

Both these runners had faced off back on the first of October at PHA in the Gr. II Cotillion, with My Mommy Is My Aunt ( still cant get my head around that name ) coming out on top by a neck, but today was redemption day for the Dynark Stable entry. After she failed in her attempt to capture the BC Ladies Classic earlier in the month finishing fourth, this was the icing on the cake for Blow Me To The Moon who earned her fifth career victory in thirteen starts, and brought her total earnings to $932.880. Her other Grade I victory came in the Acorn going a mile in June at BEL. For her owner Dynark Stables, he now has earned his thirty first Grade I title in his sixth season her at HRP, and continues to build on his total career earns of over $80,000.000 which he surpassed back on the 17th of this month.

For My Mommy Is My Aunt, while she wouldnt be able to claim her second Grade I title, her efforts were nothing less then brilliant, and it all came down to the head bob at the wire. She has been an impressive filly having won seven of her ten starts this season, and finish in the top three in every event. She has surpassed the $1,000.000 plateau with her earning from this race, and will be a tough competitor next season, you can count on it. It will be interesting to see when these two will meet in the future, it will be one hell of a finish.

For show finisher Pan Farms Zaffy Flashey ( 6.30 ), she would run one of the best races of her career after being claimed for a mere $16.000 at the end of last season. Her trainer has had all the confidence behind this bay filly and while she may have only won once in six starts this season, given the right level of competition, she will be in the winners circle in no time once again.

The final two finishers were TwinTowersRacing's Golden Chance ( 4.20 ) who was making her return to the Graded level status here after being absent since late March, and though she didnt find a top three finish, she did perform well. Winless in ten starts this season is a tough pill to swallow, and hopefully her talented trainer will get her back to competitive form soon, and to the winners circles. For Chili King Stables Campinela ( 7.10 ), her fifth place finish found her only shy by four lengths, and if she can find her form prior to her purchase, watch for her to score, and score big. Her speed numbers are now in the nineties, and she did only miss by three quarters of a length to Blow Me To The Moon in the Gr. I Acorn, so possibly the mile distance could be her selling point.

Who knows, we may just be hearing Dynark Stables trainer singer a whole new version of Bart Howards Fly Me To The Moon, first recorded by Kaye Ballard, but probably best remembered by the Frank Sinatra version.
