Shoot The Brees got out of the gate to be sixth about two and a quarter lengths from the leader in the opening quarter. From there he started to rally to get up to be fourth now within a half length from the front. As the field went towards the three quarters of a mile marker, he rallied to take the lead, and would go on to win by one for owner Some Devil Racing in a time of 1:48.38 for a mile and an eighth on the dirt course.
Art For Success was out of the gate to be last of eight. He would slowly move up to be sixth by the mile. In the final furlong he rallied from sixth to finish second for his owner Threshold.
Exceedingly Heroic was all over the board throughout this race. He started out by being second in the early going. By the half mile he was on the lead. Then he fell back to be fifth at the three quarters of a mile marker. From there he fell to be seventh by the mile, but came back to finish third for owner Nakamura Stables.
Melon Collie sat off the pace to be seventh, and then eighth in the early going. He slowly rallied throughout the race, with a big move in the stretch to get up to be fourth for owner Barcelona Farms.
N Y Minute was out on the lead throughout the first eight furlongs. He assisted in setting the opening half mile in :47 and three fifths, from there went to the three quarters in 1:11 and one fifth. He brought the field to the mile in 1:35 and three fifths. In the last furlong he tired to finish fifth for owner Paradise Stable.
Smokin Cigar was in the mix early to be fourth, and was able to be third at the mile. That would be his best, but in the final furlong he would tire to be sixth for owner Pumpkin Racing.
Cannabis Warrior was part of pressing the pace as he was third in the opening quarter. By the half he was on the lead, and by the three quarters would fade to be third. He would go on to finish seventh for owner Bush Wackers Of Ohio.
Go For Whisky really was not in it from the beginning. He started out to be fifth and then faded quickly to seventh. Would go on to finish eighth for owner Riggins Racing.
