Maiden
Around You ~ Makes his way back to AQU where he has tried two previous times to break his maiden. His best finish here was second on the inner dirt track in his debut. He now tries that same surface again today for owner and breeder Hambletonian Stable. Getting the nod as the post time favorite in this one was out and running fifth at the break, as he turned the corner he was full of run under jockey R. Maragh and the two sprinted away to win by 4. Winning in a time of 1:10.92 for the 6 furlongs on the inner dirt.
Claiming
Geico ~ Breaking his maiden two starts back owner and breeder Running Farms put him in a $50.000 over night stakes at SUF where he ran off the board running eighth. Today he will run for a tag of $50.000 and look to run better then that last one. Getting out of the gate and sitting just off the lead, as he bought his time into the stretch jockey J. Castellano went to work on him and in the final furlong he went on bye the leader to win by 1 at odds of 44/1. Winning in a time of 1:38.30 for the mile.
Manic Panic ~ No luck in five tries since the move to new owner Dynark Stables will try turning it around here at AQU with a stretch out to a mile. Taking on claimers for $25.000 last time out at WO on the main track will move back to the sod where she has run most of her races. The short priced favorite today was away well challenging for the early lead, as she then took control making her way into the stretch jockey E. Prado flashed the stick and she broke away from the others going to the wire to win by 8. Winning in a time of 1:35.30 for the mile on the sod.
Starter Allowance
Loyal Lass ~ In her first try for new owner Team Furey she took on her own in the NY Stallion Series The Liberty and finished sixth on the sod. Today she will take on Starter Allowance company in her second try for the new connections and will get the same rider in Chop Chop J. Chavez. Moving back to the dirt for this one was out in mid pack at the break, as she was just a length behind at the top of the lane she got past the leaders with ease and went on to the wire to win by 2. Winning in a time of 1:36.50 for the mile.
Allowance
Pecks Bad Boy ~ Looks to redeem himself today after his eighth place finish in the Grade II Nashua here at AQU on the dirt. He now will move back to the sod where he has run only once before in the Grade III Pilgrim and finished third and will take on allowance company in this one. Out of the gate and up to challenge for the lead, as he was a nose behind at the top of the straightaway jockey E. Prado went to work on him and he responded shaking away from the others to win by 2. Winning in a time of 1:42.23 for the mile and a sixteenth on the sod and owner / breeder Paradise Stable.
