AP 8/13/2011 - Race Results.

 

Race #1 14:00
1 Mile Dirt Maiden Claiming Purse $10.500 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

Silverbird stalked the leaders, improved position driving down the straight to take the lead in the final furlong and win by a length from Boalt with Casino Drive a further quarter of a length back in third. The winner is owned by Ken Allan.

 

Race #2 14:20
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Maiden Claiming Purse $10.500 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

Proud Note  going  post to wire steadily drawing four lengths clear by the wire from Bully For Her with Bendor Meteorite a further three lengths back in third. The winner is owned by South Beach Racing.

 

Race #3 14:40
5 Furlongs Turf Claiming Purse $14.500 Open 2 Year Olds.

Bell Northern  close up early improved position driving down the straight to take the lead in the final furlong going on to win by half a length from Warhead with Heracles  a length further back in third. The winner was owned by Two Hearts One Love claimed.

 

Race #4 15:00
5 1/2 Furlongs Turf Claiming Purse $17.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

Strike Force close up early challenged in the straight to take the lead going on to win by two lengths from Nice Move with Star Blaze a further head back in third. The winner was owned by Diablo Diablo claimed.

 

Race #5 15:20
1 1/16 Mile Turf Starter Allowance Purse $19.350 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

Tip Top wins his forth race in a row all since being gelded, close up early  but near the rear of the field challenged in the straight to take the lead going on to win by two lengths from Romulan Warbird with Guillermo beaten in a photo for second by only a nose. The winner is owned by Oncearoundtwice Farm.

 

Race #6 15:40
5 Furlongs Turf Allowance Purse $32.790 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

Silver Brave and The Weasel dead-heated for first place, Silver Brave close up early improved position to take the lead in the final furlong getting up on the wire to dead-heat with The Weasel who went close up early challenged in the straight to take the lead going a length in front of the field closed down in the final furlong to be caught on the wire for a share of the spoils  with Strange Magic a length further back in third. The winners are owned by Ken Allan (Silver Brave) and Maxmillion Farm (The Weasel).

 

Race #7 16:00 Secretariat Stakes - Grade I
1 1/4 Mile Turf Stake Purse $400.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

Laffin Hyena close up early, improved position to take the lead in the final furlong and get up on the wire to win in a photo by the shortest of margins a nose from Jamaican Bolt with Diamond Cut a further half a length back in third. The winner is owned by Ken Allan. See Separate Article.

 

Race #8 16:20 Beverly D - Grade I [BC]
1 3/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $750.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

Madame Harriet going post to wire steadily drawing three lengths clear by the wire from Floral Design with Pheasant Plucker a further  length back in third. The winner is owned by Chateau Gill. See Separate Article.

 

Race #9 16:40 AP Million - Grade I [BC]
1 1/4 Mile Turf Stake Purse $1,000.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

Purple Ripple wins his second race in a row going close up early, improved position to take the lead and drive all the way down the straight to hold a head lead at the wire from Bronze Sabre with Dense Turf a further two lengths back in third. The winner is owned by Angelos Stable. See Separate Article.
